HAAN Steam Cleaner Review/Giveaway

Like most great entrepreneurs, Romi Haan set out to solve a problem. How can you get the floor sparkling clean without investing a lot of time and without using harsh chemicals?
The answer was surprisingly simple: Steam. When heated and applied properly, steam kills 99.9% of household germs, bacteria and viruses and easily powers away dirt and grime.
As a young Korean housewife and mother, Romi Haan had an idea that would free homemakers from laborious chores. Because such importance is placed on maintaining a clean floor, Korean women wash floors daily. Frustrated by the time and effort required to keep the floors in her home clean and sanitary, she set out to develop easy-to-use products that would clean and sanitize through the power of steam.
Romi, who started the HAAN Corporation in Korea, worked with a group of talented engineers and product designers to develop an easy-to-use steam mop that would clean, sanitize, and endure everyday use for years. She created more than a line of innovative steam products. She founded a company synonymous with serious engineering, quality materials and stringent manufacturing standards.
HAAN steam-cleaning tools were an instant sensation. In fact, a recent Gallop poll showed that in Korean homes that use steam, 3 out of 4 choose to do so with HAAN. Since introducing HAAN products to the US in 2007, millions of consumers have added steam to their cleaning routine for a quicker, healthier way to clean. Just a year after coming to the US, The Wall Street Journal named Romi Haan as one of "The Top 50 Women to Watch", and she continues to garner national and international media interest.
HAAN is recognized as the market leader and an innovator in steam technology. Romi Haan and the HAAN Corporation are committed to advancing steam technology and developing products that help customers spend as little time cleaning as possible!

Earth Friendly

Good for the home environment and the global environment
You can't get much greener than steam. It is 100% chemical free. Using only tap water, HAAN steam cleaners kill 99.9% of bacteria, viruses and allergy-causing dust mites. High heat sanitizes hard and soft surfaces, loosens dirt and grime and deodorizes almost every surface in the home. It is a cost effective way to clean the entire house without using a single chemical.
Because HAAN steam cleaners use only water, there is no chemical residue or harsh detergents that can find their way into your family's bodies and into your local water supplies.
HAAN is continually improving upon consumer packaging to do our part in helping reduce waste. HAAN steam mops and cleaners also come with reusable pads and attachments. Less product packaging, reusable cleaning pads and cleaning tools mean less waste in landfills.
Additionally, HAAN garment steamers, offer an environmentally-friendly alternative to dry cleaning. Traditional dry cleaners use chemicals that are harmful to the environment and can pose health risks.

If you have been reading long you know that I love using green cleaners in our home, so about 4 yrs ago (shortly after our first son was born) we purchased our first steam mop. The idea of being able to clean our floors, that our little one would be rolling, crawling and playing on without the use of chemicals sounded like a great idea. The first steam mop lasted us about 3 yrs and then it broke :( it was a very sad day in our house, so we ran out, almost immediately to purchase another one. Now while I have always loved that steam mop there are things I dont love about it.....it has just a few extra attachments but no where to store them, to get my floor really really clean (like if I go a few days in between uses and something the kids drug in gets hardened on the floor) I have to stand there and scrub, scrub, scrub...so on.

So when I was asked to try out the new HAAN Complete I was very excited to do so! My steam mop arrived and I was so excited to try it out. Now it did take me a couple days to get it out of the box , while I LOVE using a steam mop I always try to do so while my youngest one is in bed...he is very curious and likes to try to grab at the steam...... as we know steam is hot, so I try not to take any chances. So when I dug it out of the box, he was awake, but my mom was also here so that helped out. :)

The first thing I noticed was all the great attachments that come with this steam cleaner! And the big bonus is that a lot of the attachments fit in the compartment on the front and the ones that don't go in a drawstring bag that comes with it. :)

The directions say that the HAAN will take 3-5 minutes to warm up enough to use, I think it was about 2 or 3 before the ready light came on for me. I really like that this has a mat to sit the steamer on while it warms up, this keeps the excess water from getting onto your floor.

So, like I said it was a couple days after receiving the HAAN before I used it , and I had used my other steam mop the day before it arrived. So my floors were quite dirty...with kids dragging dirt in, bringing sidewalk chalk in on their feet, etc....it doesn't take long. :)  I decided to start in my living room and kitchen.

Those are before......

And after! This was just a quick run over too, I think it did a great job...here is the proof

Yeah....that is completely blue when you start out! GROSS!!

Now, I will admit that maybe once I got started I didn't read the directions too well....I kept pushing the trigger on the top to get the steam to come out and by the time I was done the kitchen I thought...thats a pain. Literally! My finger hurt...then I realized I had a lot of water on the floor....yeah you don't need to constantly hold that trigger down, just pull it when needed. And if you find you do need continous steam there is a lock button ;-) Much better!!

I did take the time to use a few other attachments. I used the nozzle to spray our shower heads, and there is definitely a difference in water pressure since doing so! I also used this nozzle (get ready for grossness) to clean our toilets...I said to my mom "you know how like pee and stuff gets in the screws on your toilet seat and you can not get it cleaned out?" she looked me like I was crazy and then said "well you do live with all boys" so if you can relate you will appreciate this, if not well you will just think GROSS! I took that nozzle and sprayed at those screws and eww nastiness came out (dont worry it went right in the toilet). My toilet seat has never been so clean....since we moved in and it was new. :) I also then attached the scrub brush to clean our tub...I hate cleaning tubs, especially when pregnant, this thing did the trick amazingly and I had no back pain after doing so! I am absolutely in love with my HAAN. I can't wait to use it more! I really look forward to telling my husband that he can steam his work clothes with it! Which has to be much easier than ironing every morning!! :)
