The Black Flag Review/Giveaway

 It's that time of year where families are starting to spend a lot more time outside. We love to eat outside (whether we have grilled or not), play games and just sit out and talk. The one thing though that always makes us run back inside are the bugs! Especially with little one's, when bees come swarming we take cover (my dad and hubby are mildly allergic and I don't really want to find out if my kids are).

  I was very excited when I was contacted by the company Black Flag to try out there new Flying Insect Trap. It arrived very quickly and the next day I got it together and hung it on our tree out front. I was sent a box of fly lures and a box of wasp & yellow jacket lures. The flies had been horrible so I knew I wanted to try that lure out first.  So I put the little catcher together, it literally took about 3 minutes. It was very simple.

You can see the "lure" in there. Its simply a little powder that you mix with water. I had planned on hanging this on a hanging plant rod that I have, but its not tall enough... so for now my tree will do :) I hung this last Saturday...the first day I really gave it a look was on Wednesday...I was surprised that it had caught quite a number of flies.

  It has also done a great job of keeping the flies from our front door. We were having a horrible time with them "following" us in when we would come in from outside, but this week I have not had a problem at all! (Now I just need one for outback) So I just checked it again a few minutes again, so about a week after hanging it, and it is crazy full!! (this was Sunday around noon)

I know that it actually looks rather gross now, sorry about that :-/ but its amazing to me that it is still bringing those little boogers in! It does kind of stink though. The box says 1 lure will last 1 month, and I believe it, but I don't know that I will wait that long to clean it out, because really it reaks! But I am so happy with this little trap, I will be using this all summer for sure! And if the wasp one works just as well I will be even more thrilled!
